Yeah yeah, I know, how sad am I? If you don’t work in the printing industry these sort of things are pretty much taken for granted, you receive your parcel in the post, it’s not quite what you’ve ordered from your catalogue so you want to send it back, how do you do it? Fill out the returns form, peel the label off, stick it on the box or bag and pop it back in the post – Simple.
Well yes it is, incredibly simple but at the same time, a genius of an idea. A label integrated into an A4 sheet of paper, a sheet of paper that can contain just about any information that you require with a label capable of the same, all part of the same document. Genius is the word I use again for the first time I saw this integrated label product, instantly I thought of all the uses that this could be put to, how many problems it would solve and how much time it would save, not to mention the cost.
Of course, this product has come a long way since it’s first conception, nowadays you can have any number of labels on the sheet, all sorts of shapes and sizes, perforated in many number of ways and as for it’s uses, well, invoices, despatch notes, returns notes, delivery notes, the list goes on……
I understand you may not be as passionate (or sad) as I am about these printing innovations but you can’t fail to appreciate the invention. The beauty of the integrated label is that the sheet itself can be printed in just about any combination of colours and because it only involves a single pass through a press, the print on the sheet can be the same quality on the label at no extra cost, so you see, Integrated Labels are definitely the way forward, they’re here to stay and will no doubt be developed further to incorporate many different new and improved characteristics, enhancing our businesses together and saving time, money and effort along the way.
